  • Tutorial 9. “Waves of Change”

First of all I must warn you, I am not sure that this tutorial will be so interesting and really useful for all readers…At least, this work is one of narrowly focused style,as well as, it is the result of manipulation and the imagination of a mad scientist))
However, I received several inquiries for clarification on creating this work and I hope that this lesson will inspire you to create your personal -vibration (abstractions).
Accordingly, below will be presented just technical explanation.
    If you’re still here, let’s start ;)

    1. First things first, I processed one pic from my archive using one of my favorite Decim8. So, I got the next image.

I must say that I love this playing with forms and colors and I want to run with it anymore!

    2. Considering the initial capabilities of the resulting image I would like to run it through the TinyPlanet app.

    This is what I need!

    3. I want to make it look more artistic, so I run it through the Glaze app.
    So I got next pic.

    4. Thinking of the waves, I would like to see more motion and blue/cyan colors. Further, I used another image from my archives, that I also processed using Tiny Planet app. So, I merge them both, using Blender app., playing with application settings “Blending Mode

Finally I got the foundation of my final image

    5. However, this is not all. Further I process my images using the Tiled app.
I have to confess that quite often I use it in the creation of my art- works.

    6. Finally, to complete my work I used ScratchCam app.

    That’s all!
As always – ”Let your imagination works on you!” ;)

  • Tutorial 8. “Ghosts of crimes against humanity”

I may say, I don’t know the way to start this tutorial…
This is quite dangerous dancing with fire and ashes … I would say so.
This work, which I would like to consider today, concerns a very complex subject … I had been thinking for a long time before I decided to write the tutorial on it.
    However, this work does exist.
Crimes against humanity were lived out in World War 2. Genocide, murder, torture, starvation, exposure to disease on purpose, intentional bombing or shooting that has no military purpose or authorization (also considered a war crime) and mass arson of people and their homes or in buildings. I have probably missed some types of crimes but it is pretty gruesome what some people have done to others. It was atrocious.
I wont concern everything that is behind this work.
So, let us turn to the discussion of the process of creating, as well as explore some applications that I have used here.

    1. I took this picture with Hipstamatic (BlackKeys super grain film, John S lens) last winter in the subway. This capture reminded me of this slippery subject immediately..

    2. So, to complete this work I had to enhance the feelings and emotions with some applications.
First of all, I added some texture, using Textures+ app.

I love this app and use it quite often in creating my works or to create my own textures.
Keep in mind you can always clean up necessary area, using “eraser”. So I cleaned the area of the face.

    3. Further I run it through Horror Cam app. and a bit improve it by Snapseed using settings (adjust Brightness, Ambiance, Contrast, Saturation etc.)
    So I got this pic.

    4. Then, I add some text using the Phonto app. It is simple in use and I like a fairly large selection of the fonts that they have, as well as the resulting images have a good resolution…
Generally I use different apps to adding texts.

    5. Finally I add the last element using ArtSet app. I may to confess, I’m not a big master in this application, so, all my tests in its use is still very meager…=) However, that’s all what I need here.

    That’s all!

Despite the story behind this image I love it ….

  • Tutorial 7. Turn on your imagination! Again and again ;)

Going back again to the issue of how you can use your personal imagination and creative fantasy))

    Before starting this tutorial…
Well, I was looking for handwriting (like my business card) in my works for a long time. It was hard and I was really upset about it … Recently I have revised my works over the last couple of years… Finally, I got it! I have two major direction!! =)
On the one hand – it’s something vintage, antique and so often little bit scared and whimsical works (mostly portraits and images with human forms). On the other hand – I really love the color! Such a kind of explosion of the moods and feelings. As usually too bright colors are present in my graphic works.

So, I decided to consider one of my personal favorite of my graphic works of this summer.
I really wanted to choose an interesting work, processed using a variety of and show how you can use your personal imagination and creative fantasy))

“The whole difference between construction and creation is exactly this: that a thing constructed can only be loved after it is constructed; but a thing created is loved before it exists.” Charles Dickens

I tried to be detailed and clear. I hope this will be useful and interesting stuff.
As usual - When you begin to create your work, you must have the main idea in your head!

    1) OK, the main images included in the final version  were two pictures taken with my long focal lens for , using “ClassicPan” app. Nothing special, just not so good quality pictures with awesome workers in the sky.  They were establishing some decoration for the street scene.  I must say that I loved how they looks,  this is what I need!

Images were captured on a rainy and overcast day. I little bit cleared my pictures from the gray clouds and flipped one of them, so that they looked at each other, using “Camera+

    2) I love the geometry and I really love the “poster”-images!

With the clean (almost white) image, I created some different graphic images using “addLib” app

Further I proceed to the fun – blending!  Here I used “Blender” app, playing with application settings “Blending Mode“. So I got this pic

Looks not bad, but it is too little for me! I want even more colors and geometry!

    3) Further I turn to my archives and I remember that I want to see more colors at least…

I picked a pair of bright colored textures.

    4) Step – 2. Gone back to the “Blender” app, and playing again with settings “Blending Mode” one by one I added my colors textures at the previous picture.

    5) So I got next pic.

For the base it looks good. I like the color and graphic design. But still there is no real life ..

I gone back to my “workers” and I add them in sequence at my previous picture, using the “Blender” app.

    Finally I got this image

    6) Well, I really love it, but I would like to add some light without changing the exposure and contrast. Perhaps it will be glares or something like this. However it’s the graphic art, so I guess that an ordinary glares will spoil the mood and structure of whole work.

So I created the image next image, using “Flowpaper” app.

    7) Gone back to the “Blender” app. and merge layers, playing with application settings “Blending Mode

    Finally I got the FIN.pic

Let your imagination works on you! ;)

  • Tutorial 6. “Going on a trip” (collaboration test work)

Recently one of my iFriends, Roger Guetta, one of the most talented artists, whose work never cease to amaze and inspire me, gave a task.. a very challenging favour… =) He gave some original photos of some of his students, and asked to process on your own taste… and here we go!
What looked as a challenge before became a superb interesting project & i truly enjoyed it.
Well, for some reason I’ll keep silence with others details of this challenge and move on to my tutorial ;)

    1) So, here is the original image.

    2) First of all I decided to give more fun for this pic =) & I ran it through the FunnyFace app.
I should mention, that I really loved her great yellow scarf and her stylish glasses =)
OK, I think you can understand the reason why I did it twice in a row =)

This picture I got by Pencil Camera app, using Canvas effect and I like the way it looks now but I would like to improve it by Snapseed using settings (adjust Brightness, Ambiance, Contrast, Saturation etc.)
    resulting image

    4) So far I do not see something special in it …
I’ve mentioned that I liked her scarf! You know, it reminds me about some travelers …..
Excellent! So, I decided to direct her to a fascinating journey and I mark it with the old/vintage atlas ;) As well as I little bit decorate her yellow scarf in a common style.

These textures I combine with resulting pic. using Blender app.
Several times before, I explained in detail Blender app. and its settings.
You can find it in my previous
    for example: Tutorial1

That’s all!  As always - ”Let your imagination works on you!” ;)

  • New Look meets NaProsvet

This summer, I got a mail from the Finnish fashion called “New Look.”
So, I got to know that they will have a city theme for article which includes fashion collages from four different cities in a big fall fashion issue. The chosen cities are Moscow, Paris, Dubai and Tokyo. There will be two page per city and the idea is to capture the “spirit” (through , architecture, phenomenon/trends, colors, feeling, etc) and imply it to fashion with street style pictures, product photos and runway photos tied together with pictures of the city.
So, they were need for help to get the collages to be from the right point-of-view, capture the city’s real spirit and asked me to be their “guide” to Moscow.
    Sure! I am in! ;)
Afterwards we had a correspondence, as well as I sent them some of my black and white .
After a while I got a mail from which I learned that the magazine is in the print!!!
YES! Finally I got my copy today!
Flipping through this wonderful magazine, I got that is gaining momentum! (at least for me, this is really important) ;)
Oh, it is a great pleasure for me! NO!! I am absolutely thrilled!
I took some pictures of the article for you, friends.

    What a pity, I don’t know Finnish…;)
